Edo Police Play Host to Benin Recreation Club Members

In a bid to foster a more cooperative and sustainable partnership, the President and Executive Committee Members of the Benin Recreation Club (BRC) today paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, Funsho Adegboye, at his office in Benin City.

During the visit, after the formal introduction by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Club, Edoko Wilson Edoko spoke about the primary objective of the courtesy call, which was about the club’s focus to establishing a lasting cooperation with the Edo State Police Command.

 

In his remark, the President of Benin Recreation Club, Mr. Osayi Courage Osamuyi mentioned that the club boasts of a top-notch recreation and sporting facility that can contribute to enhancing the fitness and readiness of the officers to effectively carry out their duties.

As a gesture of appreciation, the BRC President presented an honorary membership status to the Police boss.

Overwhelmed by the visit the Police Commissioner, Funsho Adegboye who happens to be a lover of sports especially table tennis expressed his gratitude for the visit and welcomed the BRC Executives with so such happiness.

While speaking, the Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of collaborating with the Club, adding that that the police needs the Club more than the Police, for the purpose of information gathering, this is needed to assist the police with the task of policing the state.

The Police Boss, who is a strong sport enthusiast encouraged Nigerians to embrace active participation in sporting activities, however he applauded the zeal and passion of Nigerians towards football in particular. “Football is currently the most unifying tool that binds the Nation together”, he added.

In turn, he also presented an Honorary award on behalf of the State Command to the Benin Recreation Club President.
