The Ukpi-drummer of Iviukwe Community Pa. Patrick Okega RB, National Chairman Mr. Yusuf Agbamhe as well as the Community Chairman Chief Adolphus Oshole Osimi and other executives has cried out to Federal Government, State and other forms of authorities to please come to their aid, saying their ancestral land of inheritance is not for sale.
Every authorities in Nigeria should please be informed that, Iviukwe Community has never in anyway involved in land-grabbing.
In a statement made by the general Chairman, Adolphus Oshole, he said, Iviukwe Community has advised the general public to disregard completely the unfounded and mischievous claims that, Dangote bought their land.
They called on the Federal Government as well as State Government not to allow this victimizations, intimidations and injustice to happen because they’re helpless.
They equally want the Federal and State Government to use court to perpetually restrain the defendants or their agents from erecting any structure, trespassing or carrying out any activity on their land.
The community has questioned the validity of the said sale and the authority of Dangote to deal in the land such as; How much did Iviukwe Community sold their land? Did Dangote credit the community’s account? Who sold it for him and who did he credit his account?
Iviukwe Community has however warned Dangote and his cohorts and those faceless being working with him not to take any steps to enter or interfere in their land.
Iviukwe people must not sleep. They must rise up and chase away all foreigners from grabbing their ancestral land. If we don’t chase them away, we will lose all that God has freely given to us. We won’t rest until those vampires that wants to take over our land overnight are chased away, the chairman noted.
To avoid some avoidable pitfalls and make steady progress without regrets, just as we see today, men of honest reputation with proven integrity that have been tested and confirmed trusted, should be allowed to lead as pathfinder to our dream promising future, where everybody can be proud of his ancestral cradle/Community.
Recall that, Iviukwe Community use to be a place where men and women of virtues were sought in the defunct Weppa/Wanno.
Today, what we see are self-centered people with self aggrandizing interest above their Community by mortgaging generational inheritance to a foreigner for a morsel of bread without the knowledge of land owners and the Community betrayed. These dishonest fellows chose to plunged their people in total darkness and disarray. Why? Simply because of greed.
This gross actions of these workers of iniquities is likened to a story of a fool who sold his hen to buy just an egg.
We are writing with tears gushing-eyes, groaning in pains over this abominable and desecration done on our land and its people.
As we drew the curtain, we appreciate and commend the men of valour, highly spirited and revered individuals (names withheld) who went through tick and tin to ensure that light shines in the darkest part of our community in such a time as this.
