The former Presidential Aide to Goodluck Jonathan, Comrade Jude Imagwe has Condemned the demolition of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship campaign office in Gombe state.
AfemaiReporters recall that Gombe State governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, has ordered the demolish of the campaign office of the PDP governorship Campaign office.
The campaign office of the PDP governorship candidate, Alhaji Jibrin Danbarde is located at Liberty Junction, GRA, the state capital before it was destroyed by the Gombe State Urban Development Authority (GOSUDA).
The Gombe government team were accompanied by heavily armed policemen cordoned off the road leading to the PDP before carrying out the demolition.
The posters of PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar were also destroyed by the state government.
The state government had earlier attempted to demolish the office building which was resisted by PDP supporters and resulted in a court case.
Journalists covering the demolition were arrested by the police and taken to the Pantami police division in the state capital.
Reacting to the development, Imagwe described the demolition of Alhaji Jibrin Danbarde campaign Building as ‘a pure political vendetta that will surely turn against the Governor in due time,’ saying that Governor Inuwa Yahaya is showing total disregard for the rule of law.
‘Inuwa is on a revenge mission against opposition in the state because he knows he will be defeated at the poll in 2023 Election.
Imagwe caution against future action in this guise, because it is borne out of hatred and political intolerance in furtherance of the larger plot by the PDP and its administration to destroy the fabric that binds Gombe people, and eventually overheat the polity.
‘It is shameful and sad that Muhammad Inuwa has abandoned his constitutional responsibilities to chase opposition in the state by destroying their properties. It is clear that he has no regard for the judiciary, neglecting the fact that the case is before the court,’ Imagwe said.
