Group Decries Auchi Development Foundation Partisanship

“A social-political youth organization of Auchi extraction REFORMED AUCHI YOUTH MOVEMENT (rAYF) has condemned the involvement of Auchi Development Foundation (ADF) in the Edo 2024 election, citing partisanship and bias.

In a statement issued by the convener, iPrince MKO Chalaman Momoh, the group expressed dismay that ADF President Nasiru Ikharo has openly aligned the organization with the All Progressive Congress (APC), undermining its integrity and neutrality.

The group took particular issue with Ikharo’s speech at the recent Auchi Youth Summit, where he declared the APC candidate Senator Monday Okpebholo as the incoming governor of Edo State. This, they argue, is a clear violation of ADF’s non-partisan stance and an affront to the organization’s founding principles.

Furthermore, the group is dismayed that Ikharo would take such a step when a son of Auchi and a founding member of ADF is running as the deputy gubernatorial candidate of another political party. This, they believe, exposes the ADF leadership’s hidden agenda and raises questions about the organization’s true motives.

The group urges those who still have the organization’s best interests at heart to intervene and caution Mr Ikharo against further politicizing ADF. They emphasize that power and leadership are ordained by God, and that no individual or group should seek to exploit or manipulate the organization for personal gain.”
