Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has claimed Marcelo Bielsa would have won more titles than him had he been in charge of Barcelona.

Guardiola also admitted he would have struggled to transform Leeds United’s fortunes the way Bielsa did.

Bielsa was sacked by Leeds this season, as the Whites battled relegation from the Premier League.

Guardiola is still full of admiration for a man that mentored him and told Telemundo Sports: “Give him my Barcelona and you will see how he will win titles.

“Give me Leeds, with all due respect to the Leeds players, but I would still be in the Championship.”

Bielsa is believed to have persuaded Guardiola to take up coaching and the pair then faced off in the 2012 Copa del Rey final, when Guardiola’s Blaugrana beat the former’s Athletic Club to the title.
