Just as Jesus’ Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem as recorded in the holy bible, so it was on Friday 22nd, 2022 as supporters from different part of the 3 LGA in Etsako singing solidarity songs as their principal, Barr Kasimu Otono, visited leaders and Executives of Etsako West, Central and East in their respective Local government.
This visit was to officially inform the verious LGA of his intention to contest for the House of Representatives election, come 2023.
The support for the House of reps aspirant was massive, welcoming and unprecedented as it was difficult to know if it was a gubernatorial or House of reps consultation.
In his speech, Barr Kasimu Otono said that the idea to represent the good people of Etsako came as a result of the fact that he wants to replicate and consolidate on the good governance of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Otono while appealing to leaders and Executives of the various LGA to send him to Abuja revealed that there is more to benefit in governance if the people elect credible leaders who are passionate about the development of the people, assuring the stakeholders that if given the chance, his representation will bring the much needed dividends of democracy closer to the people.
According to him: “we have the materials needed for wealth generation, all that we lack is a leader who can gainfully harness what we have, and maximize it for the common good of all.”
In their separate remarks, the speakers reiterated the need for the party members to embrace those who have proven themselves, not only to the loyal party men, but who are true progressives; while they described the quest of Otono for reps as a divinely inspired move to liberate the people of the Etsako Constituency.
