Gunmen on Friday attacked the convoy of General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) Auchi, Apostle Johnson Suleman along the Benin-Auchi road in Edo State.

They reportedly killed seven persons, including three police orderlies during the attack.

Suleman was said to be heading to Edo State after a foreign trip when the gunmen opened fire on his convoy.

The cleric on his verified Twitter page — @APOSTLESULEMAN, 15 hours before the incident happened, he had posted prayer points on his timeline, describing God as way maker and bridge over troubled water.

“Who is God to you? He is my way maker, my bridge over troubled waters, the one that lays his chambers upon the waters, walks on the wings of the wind as a chariot, stretches forth heaven as a curtain.. Who is he to you?”

In another tweet during the week, he prayed: “This week the Lord will uphold you. He will defend and protect you. You will not be a victim but a victor. Testimonies await you in Jesus name.”

Confirming the attack, Lawyer Abdul Mamud tweeted: “Terribly saddened by the news of the dastardly attack on my brother and client @APOSTLESULEMAN this evening in Auchi, Edo State by suspected kidnappers.

“The scene of the attack on Warrake Road, Auchi, is like a scene taken out of a war movie. To His Grace, Suleman is unhurt.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who were killed this evening. May the souls of the 7 dead rest in peace. Again, the kidnappers failed in their bid to snatch Suleman. Edo State is unsafe.”
