The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Mohammed Abubarkar Adamu, has approved SP Kontongs Bello’s appointment as the new Police Public Relations Officer, Edo State Police Command.
SP Kontongs Bello hails from Billiri Local Government Area of Gombe State.
He was born on 13 March 1981.
He attended Katau Primary School Billiri, where he obtained his first school leaving certificate before proceeding to Federal Technical College, Jalingo, Taraba State.

A Police statement signed by the Asst. PRO, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, and obtained by Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe Said SP Bello holds a B.Tech from Federal University of Technology, Yola Adamawa State and then M.Tech from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi State.
He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on 19 March 2010 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
After graduating from the Police academy, he served in different capacities and Commands.
Areas, where he has worked include Plateau State Command as second in command Zonal Intelligence Bureau, Zone 4, Markurdi, Benue State, Administration Officer, Special Protection Unit (SPU), Base 12 Bauchi State.
SP Bello also served as operation Delta Safe (JTF) Yenogua, Bayelsa State, Police Component Commander Operation Delta State (JTF) 19 Battalion Koko, Delta State, Police Component Commander, Operation Delta Safe Sector 4 Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
Before he was appointed the Police Public Relations officer Edo State Police Command, SP Bello was the Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) Esigie Divisional Headquarters, Benin City, Edo.
He is married and blessed with children.
