International Youth Day: Ex-Obaseki Aide, Comrade Promiseland Sends Message To Nigeria Youths

PRESS RELEASE:

By Distinguish Rotn Comr. Kasimir Cyprian Okhumeode Promiseland (Former aide to Edo state GOVERNOR, Obaseki)…..

In celebrating our independence and youthfulness on this year’s youth day..and a wake up call for selflessness, resilience and commitment…

In time past, youths have being the brain box of success in most families, institutions, religious groups, organizations, communities, states and in the country at large. they have the most promising role to play in issues around.

Most youths with the understanding of their responsibility has never relent in struggle for peace, equity and justice in their communities, they stood and still standing to defend what they believe in, and for humanitarian sacrifice. i celebrate their doggedness, persistency and resilience..
as we celebrate this year’s youth day, i call on youths who have not joined the train to do so and shun all form of social vices such as crime violence, cultism, thuggery, drugs abuse, oppression, robbery, election rigging, etc. so as to embrace peace and justice if we must progress as a nation.

But, the government and ngos must try to help the youths discover themselves through programs, seminars and symposiums.

There is a need for extension agents, program developers and policy planners to better understand the role of youth(s) in the community development process. equally important, a need exists to better recognize the benefits and opportunity presented through youth involvement in community development activities.. extension plays a vital role in engaging youths through interactions with the local communities, particularly in the implementation of programs… youths can actively contribute to a variety of extension activities that enhance local life…if youths are included in programs to meet needs and empower communities, they can become lifelong participants and take on a sense of ownership in development efforts.

An understanding of youths motivations and efficacy to this kind of engagement are important so that extension and other development professionals can maximize these valuable resources. as youths are brought onto politics, community organizations, top roles in business management that they have traditionally been excluded from, they can participate in major decision making at multiple levels.

The merging of community building and youths development has been at the core of recent youths engagement, it has identified that youths must be fully involved in change efforts ( real change) at all levels if they are to learn to function as effective n relevant members of the society.

I also encourage the youths to step out from their hiding places with boldness to champion the struggle for not too young to rule.

If they must have a voice in their communities, state and nation at large…..
we must understand that we are the leaders of today and not tomorrow because tomorrow will never come……

ALL FOR ONE, ONE FOR ALL
ALUTA CONTINUA……..
VICTORIA ACERTA……….
