The All Progressives Congress (APC) has kicked off its ward-ward campaign in Edo State, with the governorship candidate senator Monday Okpebholo leading the charge in ward 1 and 2 in Ogwa, Esan West.
Speaking to a crowd of supporters, Okpebholo lamented the state of affairs in Edo under the current administration, led by Governor Godwin Obaseki. He accused the governor of “killing” the prestigious Ambrose Ali University by reducing its funding allocation and increasing tuition fees, making it inaccessible to the common man.
Okpebholo, who is seeking the number one seat in Edo, promised to turn things around if elected. He vowed to develop the state and ensure that both the poor and the rich benefit from the government’s policies. The APC candidate pledged to prioritize security, education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, and transportation.
The ward leader, De Odiase Ehiabhi, expressed confidence in Okpebholo’s ability to deliver on his promises. He assured the people that he would ensure a massive turnout for the APC in the upcoming elections, stating that the party would address the challenges facing the Esan region, such as the lack of potable water and security concerns.
The ward-ward campaign is part of the APC’s strategy to reach out to grassroots supporters and solidify its support across Edo State.
