The All Progressives Congress APC has called for the arrest of the former speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Kabiru Adjoto for allegedly snatching 23 BVAS Machines and election results sheet at the Ward collation centres in Akoko-edo during the presidential and national assembly election.
According to APC Ward 2 collation agent, Mr. Rotimi Obajaja and the Ward 6 Chairman of APC, Ahmed Ikubayaije, alleged that suspected thugs led by Hon. Kabiru Adjoto drove into the collation centres in a commando style into the venues of wards 2 and 6 collation centres at midnight, while collation were ongoing to snatched result sheet and carted away BVAS Machines from the Ward returning officer in Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly poll in Akoko-edo.
Mr. Jarkata, who is the Ward 6 APC collation agent, witnessed the carting away of the entire 18 pieces of BVAS Machines in Ward Six by Hon. Adjoto and his thugs after his failed attempt to snatched the ward result sheet at the ward collation centre confirmed the incident.
He said the case was reported at the Police Station in Igarra on the 26th of February, 2023. The incident took place at about 2:20am, while collations were going on at the collation centre in Okpe. While, that of Igarra took place at about 1:30 am, as confirmed by Mr. Rotimi Obajaja.
Up till now, the police have not done anything to bring the culprit and his thugs to book. They are still walking free in the streets of Edo State.
He said Adjoto succeeded in stealing Ward 2 result sheet and 5 BVAS, and that’s why the ward was cancelled during the election.
We are calling on the security agents to arrest Adjoto and his thugs so they can provide the bvas machines they snatched from from ward 2 and 6 in Akoko-edo.
