President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Lagos to attend the commissioning ceremony of the Dangote Refinery.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the refinery, situated at Dangote Industries Free Zone in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, is a state-of-the-art facility designed to process crude oil grades from Africa, Asia, and America.
It is expected to produce a surplus of approximately 38 million litres of petroleum products daily, including petrol, diesel, kerosene, and aviation fuel for Nigeria.
With a capacity to refine 650,000 barrels of crude oil daily, the Dangote Refinery will play a crucial role in transforming crude oil into various petroleum products such as diesel, gasoline, jet fuel, and kerosene.
Upon his arrival, President Buhari was warmly received by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote.
This newspaper earlier reported that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party had already arrived at the venue.
The commissioning ceremony is expected to be attended by five African presidents, including President Buhari. Among the dignitaries scheduled to be present are President Gnassingbé Eyadéma of Togo, President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana, President Macky Sall of Senegal, President Mohamed Bazoum of Niger Republic, and President Mahamat Déby of Chad.
