Former Senator and governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Magnus Abe, on Thursday afternoon said he has not dumped the party.

POLITICS NIGERIA reports that some media reports earlier today claimed Abe dumped the APC.

The reports also said the 57-year-old withdrew from the APC governorship race. He was said to have withdrawn from the contest through the South South Cordinator of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Support Vanguard (BATS-V), Sir Tony Okocha.

But Abe has said the news is false.

“I have been receiving a lot of calls that I have left the APC, that is not true,” he stated at a media briefing in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

“I, Senator Magnus Abe, will be on that ballot and Rivers people will have the opportunity to choose who shall lead our state moving forward,” he added.

The APC holds its governorship primaries in 28 out of the 36 states of the federation today.
