JUST IN: INEC Takes Decision On Enugu Governorship Election Results

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that the collation of results for the governorship election held in Enugu State on Saturday will continue on Wednesday at 5 p.m. (today).

Remember that the electoral body announced the suspension of results collation on Monday, stating that the decision was made following a meeting to review the elections.

 

According to INEC National Commissioner Festus Okoye, results from Enugu State’s Nkanu East and Nsukka LGAs have been suspended for further review.

 

Similarly, INEC halted the collation of results in Obingwa LGA, Abia State, after its office was attacked by thugs on Sunday.

Okoye stated that a review will be conducted immediately before the process is completed.

Peter Mbah of the Peoples Democratic Party and Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party are competing for the position of Governor-elect of the Southeastern state.
