JUST IN: Obaseki Makes Fresh Appointment

Former Legislative Assistant to Senator Francis Alimikhena, Hon. Solomon Ojo Taiwo, has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.

Presenting his appointment letter dated 18th day of December, 2023 signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie, said that, the remuneration attached to the post is as provided for in the relevant regulations currently enforced in Edo State Public Service.

The letter therefore read in parts: “SGA.15/VOLXVII/199, December 18, 2023. Solomon Ojo Taiwo. Offer of Appointment:

“I write to inform you that the Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has approved the appointment as Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Governor with effect from December 18, 2023.

 

“The remuneration attached to the post is as provided for in the relevant regulations currently enforced in Edo State Public Service.Please accept my hearty congratulations.Osarodion Ogie, Esq., Secretary to the State Government.”

Speaking with newsmen in Benin City, Hon. Solomon Ojo Taiwo said,” my appreciation goes to Governor Godwin Obaseki for the kind gesture for recognizing his efforts and to have offered him the appointment to serve in such capacity.

 

“I appreciate His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for this kind gesture for recognizing my efforts and to have offered me this appointment and I thank him so much.

 

“I am so happy that this appointment has been given to me in recognition of my service to the good people of Akoko-Edo in particular and Edo State at large,” Taiwo said.

 

However, until his appointment, Hon. Solomon Ojo Taiwo had served as former secretary to Akoko-Edo Local Government Council, Supervisory Councilor for Finance, Akoko-Edo LGC, Supervisory Councilor for Agriculture, Akoko-Edo LGC, former Principal Secretary to former Minister of Works for State, Engr. Chris Ogiewonyi and immediate past Legislative Assistant to Senator Francis Alimikhena
