Following the resignation letter dated 15th Jan, 2023 by Col. David Imuse (Rtd) as state chairman of the All progressive congress Edo state chapter to contest for the party Governorship ticket, according to the party’s constitution. In pursuant to article 31(2) (iii) of the All Progressive Congress constitution 2022 As amended.
The Deputy Jarret Tenebe takes over the state party chairman seat.
Col. (Dr.) David O. Imuse ( Rtd) was born on 8th May, 1958, an outstanding Dental Surgeon from the College of Medical Sciences, University of Benin. He served with the Nigerian Army in different positions such as Commanding Officer, Director of Military Hospital and Chief Instructor, Nigerian Army school of Medical Sciences.
During his time of service with the Nigerian Army, he was honoured with several awards which includes Meritorious service award, Forces Service Star(FSS), Meritorious Service Star(MSS ) and Distinguished Service Star(DSS).
Recall that Col. David Imuse (Rtd) has been the state party chairman since 12th November, 2019 following the removal of Anselem Ojezua from office on allegations bothering corruption & anti party activities.
During his times as the state chairman, APC recorded winning strides with FIVE (5) House of Representatives members & Two (2) National Assembly (Nigerian Senate) which has invariably placed him as a leading light & one of the major beacon of the party. It is recorded for him as one of the major people who has worked so hard for the survival of APC in Edo state.
While, presenting his letter of resignation before the state working committee members present he said, that his decision is borne out of love to serve the good people of Edo state, it is important to adhere to the party’s constitution and ensuring a fair democratic process. He further stated that his handing this party over to a party man, loyalist, a champion, a warrior, competent & diligent man.
He describes TENEBE” as loyal assistant and also a retired military personnel and an ardent supporter of the leadership of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. A man who believes and committed to RENEWED HOPE AGENDA.
He admonished the entire members of the All progressive congress family to accord him the necessary support to succeed, while assuring them He will do a greater & better work than him.
During his speech he acknowledged and showered encomiums on the Senator ( Comrade) Adams Oshomole for his profound leadership and support he has provided for the party.
He deeply expressed an immense gratitude to the entire members of the party for their unalloyed support during his time as the Edo state party chairman.
In the remark session, The acting chairman Jarret Tenebe described Col. Imuse ( Rtd) as his Boss” and a man of impeccable and distinguished character. A leader who is in the order of Biblical Moses” that has led the people almost to the promise land.
He thanked the outgoing chairman for his unequalled commitment and achievements during his time, describing it as record breaking and outstanding.
He used the opportunity to also refresh and highlight the agenda of the party in line with RENEWED HOPE AGENDA stating that it is a must task to fulfil. He advised the members and the stakeholders of the party to drive for unity and progress of the party. He also said it is important we come together and achieve a common interest which is taking over Edo state governorship seat thereby connecting to the central government to enable the good people of Edo state to benefit adequately the dividends of democracy.
He used the opportunity to appreciate exceptionally Comrade Adams Oshomole & Hon. Minster of Niger Delta, Engr. Momoh for their exceptional leadership role in making sure the party stands firm amidst of the challenges.
He appealed for supports from all the members of the state working committee and stakeholders saying this assignment is for us all, I’m just a nobody without your genuine support. To the resilient and patriotic members of the Edo APC, You are the best, together we will takeover the government number ONE seat in the state, build the EDO of our dream & renew the Hope of masses in tandem with the plans of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
