The 15th coronation anniversary of Oba Josiah Aina, the traditional ruler of Oto Awori, turned bloody on Thursday as armed robbers invade the event.
The criminals, stormed the palace, attacked residents, and guests, and took away their valuables.
However, 26 people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The Lagos State Police Command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest on Friday.
Hundeyin said that the criminals attacked most of the guests, leading to the death of a yet-to-be-identified person.
They also vandalized property, including vehicles, and burnt some shops within the vicinity.
The Police PRO, however, confirmed that normalcy had been restored in the community.
“The command is investigating the cause of the attack,” he said.
