Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, has expressed his deepest condolences to the entire Catholic community in Nigeria, particularly those in the Archdiocese of Benin City, over the passing of Emeritus Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin, Most Rev. Dr. Patrick Ebosele Ekpu.
In a statement signed by Godswill Inegbe, the Legislative Aide to Senator, Senator Okpebholo described the late Emeritus Archbishop as a humble and dedicated servant of the Lord, who spent his life serving humanity, especially the poor and the needy.
He commended Archbishop Ekpu’s remarkable contributions to the growth of the Catholic Church in Nigeria and his tireless efforts in promoting peace, love, and unity throughout the country.
The APC governorship candidate affirmed that Archbishop Ekpu will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, religious tolerance, respect for constituted authority, and deep love for humanity.
Senator Okpebholo prayed that the Almighty God would grant the late prelate eternal rest and comfort all members of the Catholic family and his immediate family during this difficult time.
