Labour Party Appoints US Chapter Caretaker Chairman

The Labour Party has appointed Professor Eddie Oparaoji as Chairman of a seven-man Caretaker Committee to establish the US Chapter of the party.

Truetells Nigeria reports the party made this known in a letter signed by the Chairman and Secretary of its Diaspora Committee.

The party described Oparaoji as an indefatigable unapologetic “Obidient” who led or played significant roles at several civil society and Think-Tank organizations including, Chairman of the very influential Washington DC-based Nigerian-American Coalition for Justice and Democracy (NACJD).

It added that the technocrat was the Chairman of the New York-based Mbaise Policy Roundtable (MPR), Convener of the Patriotic Citizens of Amuzi (PCA), and member Nigerian Association of Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists in the Americas (NAPPSA) among others.

In his acceptance letter, Oparaoji promised to work diligently within the legal frameworks of Nigeria and the USA for the success of the party in the 2023 general elections.
