Lagos 2023: Bode George Tackles Jandor Over Choice Of Running Mate’

Former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Bode George has lashed at the party’s Lagos governorship candidate, Abdul-Azeez Adediran over the choice of his running mate.

George, who featured on Channels Television Sunday Politics, said it was insulting for Adediran, popularly known as Jandor to have said that he (George) lied over a claim that the governorship candidate had agreed to choose Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as his running mate.

According to George, before the governorship primaries in the state, Jandor agreed with him and elders of the party in the state to choose Rhodes-Vivour as his running mate.

But Jandor countered and said he didn’t agree with anybody on the choice of his running mate.

He argued it was his right to choose his running mate, a decision he had long taken in favour of Funke Akindele.

“Chief Bode George is our leader in Lagos and I can say that we really do not have any issues between us. I won’t say he lied. But, I can tell you that there was no agreement anywhere.

“I think it defies logic to say you have an agreement with somebody and there was no public pronouncement to say you are withdrawing from this race for whatever reason.

“I won’t deny the fact that Baba (George) wanted him to be my deputy but I ensured that I did not have any commitment with him on that. I dodged that,” Adediran had said.

In his reaction, George said: “I was told that he made certain comment about me. It is quite insulting for Jandor to say that he cannot say that I lied.”

George, who reiterated that Adediran agreed with him in his office in

the presence of some party elders on the choice of Gbadebo as his

running mate, said the most honourable thing for governorship

candidate to do was to own up and apologise.

“It is better for him to accept the mistake he made rather than saying

he never agreed to any pact to pick Gbadebo as his running mate,”

George enthused
