New Naira Scarcity Protest: NYCN Chairman Caution Protesters In Edo

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Edo State Chapter, Comrade Peter Aguebor is appealing to all Youths in Edo State to end the ongoing protest to avoid infiltration of criminals.

He said the outcome of good intentions could have been kept away from criminals if they had managed the protest to avoid the disruption of business activities in the metropolis, due to the insensitivity of some persons in the guise of protest.

Aguebor explained that haven had reports of current happenings in the state, they are saying NO to any protest capable of being hijacked by hoodlums even as he urged them to avoid the repeat of the horrible experience of hijack during the EndSARs protest in Edo State.

While decrying the continued scarcity of the new naira notes, he is appealing to the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN, Godwin Emefiele, to immediately disburse more new naira notes into circulation to alleviate the sufferings of our Edo State citizens and Nigeria in general.

Aguebor warned that the people should not be put in a state of discomfort and hardship like the masses are currently facing, Hence, government policies should be people-oriented.

He is calling on all peace-loving Edo State Youths not to engage in riots or protest that is not peacefully organized or that has the tendency to lead to unrest in the state.

He admonished Security agencies in Edo State to be civil in the discharge of their duties in the protection of the lives and property of all citizens.

Over three unidentified people were shot dead during the protest which resulted in the destruction of Property belonging to some banks in the state, as the state Police authority has since validated.
