Some Nigerians have continued to express anger at the recent threat by President Muhamadu Buhari to clamp down on enemies of Nigeria, who according to him have triggered the current unrest ravaging the entire nation.
DAILY POST had reported that the President on Tuesday, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Femi Adesina said those who want to destroy his government will receive the shock of their lives as they will be treated in a language they will understand.
Buhari, who spoke while receiving a briefing from Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, over the recent attacks on the commission’s facilities in the South-East said those sponsoring the attacks are aiming at destroying the image of his government.
According to him, “Whoever wants the destruction of the system will soon have the shock of their lives. We’ve given them enough time.”
“I received a briefing today from the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, on the series of attacks on their facilities nationwide. These attacks are totally unacceptable, and we will not allow those behind them to achieve their evil objectives.

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) swiftly responded to the President’s warning asking him to stop
trading blames but should rather face the security challenges bedeviling the country.
National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, made the assertion on Tuesday during an interview.
Similarly, a Nigerian socio-political activist, Aisha Yusuf said the statement was a threat of civil war against the people of the South-East.
According to her, all Nigerians have equal rights and should be treated equally.
She made this known in a tweet on her verified Twitter handle on Wednesday.
