According to Abdullahi Adamu, national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), most Nigerians only criticize the party’s government, while the party’s good works go unnoticed.
On Tuesday, Adamu met with the APC professional forum led by Isa Yuguda, former governor of Bauchi State, at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
He stated that the good things that have happened under the APC-led administration have not received the attention they deserve, and he urged the group to take on the task of projecting the party.
“Look at the social programs this government has for teachers, farmers, market women, and the school feeding program,” said the former Nasarawa State governor. These are critical programs that the PDP did not put in place during their 16-year reign.
“We’re doing it, but no one is applauding the government.” We only get criticism. If we engage in positive reporting of what is going on, the electorate will notice. They will learn the truth.
“We want you to pay attention to the party’s grassroots activity to see how you can help.” It is critically important. It is driven by uneducated people, making that level of leadership extremely vulnerable.
“We must instill the culture of an enlightened, knowledge-driven membership.” This is critical in our efforts to convince people of who we are as a party and how we can be appreciated as a party.
“We have the misfortune that this government’s efforts in terms of positive publicity of what this government is doing are not reaching the grassroots.” “Everyone who wishes to speak is concerned about the negative aspects of this government.”
“We know that the opposition is viewed as the underdog throughout the world, so there is obvious sympathy for them,” he added. This is not an issue for me. Feel compassion for them, but call a spade a spade. Don’t call a dog a bad name just to get it to hang. This is what we’re dealing with.”
Yuguda stated earlier in his remarks that the forum intended to hold an APC presidential candidate town hall meeting to allow the party’s flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, and professionals to speak with Nigerians.
“In due course, we intend to project the states.” We want to highlight the accomplishments of our state governors, the APC party, and Mr. President’s projects that he has delivered to our nation because we believe that while we have government information, we also have government media teams at various levels, but when it comes to professionals speaking, I believe Nigerians will listen to us.
“As part of our mission, we will help the party with sensitization.”
“What this country needs is good governance, and if professionals are kept apart without being heard, I believe we will continue to have motion without movement,” said the former Bauchi State governor.
