A ward chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Sapele, Delta State, Peter Agboghoroma, aka Okponughari, is dead.
The politician reportedly died on Sunday shortly after returning from a party he was invited to by a friend.
It was gathered that when he was rushed to a private hospital in Sapele, the doctor pronounced him dead on arrival, saying he died of heart attack.
But family members alleged that he was poisoned at the party he attended earlier in the day.
Other sources claimed that he died of high blood pressure, as he was said to have vomited a white foam substance.
His corpse was deposited in a mortuary.
However, one of his daughters reportedly said their late father, before his demise, instructed them not to put him in a morgue.
In the meantime, PDP leaders and members have been visiting the deceased’s residence to commiserate with his family.
Among the party men who reportedly visited the house on Monday were Mr Richard Randy, Stanley Kogoro, Ajamikoko Lucky, Frank Nujimen, Ovo Abeke, among others.
