Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed appreciation to APC supporters, unit members, ward executives and party leaders in Orhionmwon Local Government Area for their support during the 2024 governorship election.
Governor Okpebholo stated this in Abudu, the administrative headquarters of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, during an engagement with party faithful and leaders in the area.
The Governor said the visit was not primarily for campaign purposes but to appreciate the people for the confidence they reposed in his administration during the 2024 governorship election.
According to him, “We are here not to campaign, but to thank you for voting for us in the 2024 governorship election. We are here to appreciate our units, wards and party leaders for their support.”
He acknowledged the pressing needs of the people, including electricity, water, roads and schools, but noted that addressing the challenges requires cooperation with the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Okpebholo said the APC structures across the units and wards in Orhionmwon remain strong, expressing confidence that the party would deliver on its commitment of 2.5 million votes for President Tinubu in Edo State.
He attributed the expected support to what he described as the positive impact of President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms, saying the reforms were already beginning to produce results.
The Governor also urged APC supporters to support the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections, including Hon. Ogie Ogbeide-Ihama for Edo South Senatorial District, Hon. Billy Osawaru for the Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency and Ndidi Akhime for the Orhionmwon East State Constituency.
Speaking at the gathering, Edo State APC Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, described Governor Okpebholo as a humble leader who is passionate about the development of Edo State.
Tenebe urged party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections and work towards securing victory for the APC.
He thanked party members for their support in the last local government election, noting that the APC recorded more than two million votes across the state.
The APC chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to delivering the promised 2.5 million votes in Edo State for President Tinubu.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Council, Hon. Thomson Osagie, and the Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly commended Governor Okpebholo for his support for the people of Orhionmwon.
They acknowledged ongoing government projects in Orhionmwon East and expressed appreciation for the administration’s attention to the development needs of the area.
The leaders also pledged to mobilise voters across the constituency for the APC, with a commitment to ensuring strong support for the party across all six local government areas within the constituency.
