It is all wailing and gnashing of teeth in Edo State as Governor Godwin Obaseki keeps unleashing his terrifying mandate on the people of the state, stopping at nothing to destroy individuals and institutions, which stood in his way during his desperate second attempt to become governor.

Obaseki seems to have no care. Like a dictator, he wields power with an iron hand and operates an authoritarian and tyrannical administration.

His most outstanding record so far is that Obaseki will go down in history as the only democratic governor of the state without a cabinet.

Obaseki, as we speak, is running a 3-man caretaker government, with no commissioners, no Special Advisers, no Local Government chairmen, with a House of Assembly that has most members missing in chamber.

With this ultimate power he has bestowed upon himself, Obaseki now does as he pleases.

A man who seem to have a deeply vengeful spirit, he has gone about destroying properties and revoking lands of his perceived enemies, including his opponent at the gubernatorial election, Pastor, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

After slamming Ize-Iyamu of a land revocation order on his farm worth billions of naira, the most despicable act yet remains the revocation of the Garrick Memorial School land, belonging to the family of Kehinde Garrick, who was one of the directors in the APC gubernatorial campaign of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

It may interest you to know that the Garrick Memorial School was built 60years ago by Pa Garrick and his wife who was still alive and well until Obaseki struck.

The Revocation Notice
Unfortunately, Mama Garrick could not bear the news of the revocation on which she and her husband toiled and worked hard all those years to build a strong institution which had produced well grounded citizens contributing successfully and progressively to the Nigerian society. A place where they sacrificed the whole of their youth days and a legacy they had handed over to their children for generational continuity.

Mama Ayo Garrick slumped and died as her poor heart could not take the news.

How much more can the Edo people take? Forced and inhuman taxation, underdevelopment, lives lost from erosion and flooding, forced vaccination, and many more keep adding to the woes being unleashed on the innocent citizens daily.

When he was elected, Edos felt they were rejecting Oshiomhole but now, the people know better. Edo people blamed themselves for throwing away the baby with the bath water.

It is sad as no one knows what Obaseki really wants.- By Moji Danisa
