Former Governor of Abia State and Senate Chief Whip, Orji Uzor Kalu, says he has informed President Muhammadu Buhari of his presidential ambition.

The presidential hopeful made this known in a post on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.

Kalu disclosed that he informed the President of his aspiration to succeed him in 2023 during a visit to the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday night.

The chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) said he visited Buhari to also discuss some major national issues with him, noting he is satisfied with their conversation.

Kalu stated that the President is in good health, adding that he looks forward to a better country ahead of the 2023 elections.

Kalu wrote: “Tonight, I paid President Muhammadu Buhari a visit to discuss major national issues and I am very satisfied with our discussion. I left him at 10 pm and in good health.

“We look forward to a better Nigeria.”

www.tracknews.ng reports that Kalu’s visit to Aso Rock comes a week after the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State visited Buhari to inform him of their presidential bids.

Recall Kalu had disclosed his ambition to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

Speaking with reporters last week Tuesday, Kalu said it is time for the South-East region to produce the next President, adding that the region has enough credible and qualified candidates to succeed Buhari.

The Senate Chief Whip asserted that he is ready to vie for the number one position in the country with Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other presidential hopefuls.

According to the former governor, he is the most prepared presidential candidate in the country, adding that he is only waiting for the APC to zone its ticket to the South East.

Kalu stated that he has nothing against Tinubu’s aspiration, saying that the ambition of the APC leader does not stop the Igbo presidency
