Oshiomhole Reacts To The Death Of Chief M.M Momoh

The immediate past National Chairman of APC Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has expressed shock and sadness over the death of Chief M Momoh, a community leader from Jattu – Uzairue who died on Tuesday, August 16, 2021, at the age of 84 years.

In a statement released to the press by his media aide Victor Oshioke, Oshiomhole said “It is with great shock, sadness and a deep sense of loss that I received the news of the death of my friend Chief Mathias Momoh a foremost and respected leader of our great party in Edo North.

Chief M M as he was fondly called will be remembered as a man of uncommon wisdom, a conscientious leader, and a father figure who was always available to offer much-needed counsel for the enhancement of our party across the state.

As a major stakeholder in our party, I consulted with him on several occasions, and on each of those instances, I was always impressed by his deep knowledge, understanding, and frank assessment of the dynamics in our political environment.

Chief M M was a courageous leader whose political ideology centered on enhancing the welfare of his people. He preached unity at all times, fought for what he believes in, but was always willing to compromise for the sake of achieving a common purpose.
He was a man of truth whose tenacity of principle was well demonstrated by an uncompromising independent disposition which made it impossible for anyone to intimidate him for his political choices.

He was a stabilizing force and source of inspiration for our party members who looked up to him for guidance.
His departure, no doubt, will create a vacuum that will take a long time to fill.

As humans, we cannot question why God called him at this time. However, our prayer is that he finds peace and eternal rest in paradise.

I express my sincere condolences to his wife, children, and extended family that he left behind.
Even as we all mourn this painful loss, we are consoled by the fact that he lived an exceptionally good life, touched so many lives and left a legacy that makes all of us thankful to God for the time he spent with us on earth.”
