#OsunDecides: I Won’t Say Who I Voted For, Says 90-year-old

A 90-year-old voter in Ejigbo LGA, Pa Simeon Ilupeju Akano, has prayed for the best man to win Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

He said his wish was for whoever wins to bring development to the state and improve living conditions.

To him, the party does not matter.

A competent leader is what the state needs, he stressed.

Pa Akano, who spoke good English, offered to write his name for our reporter rather than merely saying it.

He apparently did not want his name misspelt.

And he wrote it very legibly and in cursive style.
He wore no glasses.

He voted in Unit 006 Oke Odo Ilepeju I, Ward 04 Elejigbo ‘D’/Ejemu in Ejigbo LGA at about 11.10am

Pa Akano, who was allowed to vote ahead of others, described the process as very peaceful.

“I have not seen any rubbish here. It has been very smooth,” he said.
On his expectations, he added: “I want the candidate who will bring development to Osun and improve the lives of the people to win.”
Asked which party he voted for, Pa Akano said, smiling: “I prefer not to say it because it is a private matter.”
The very fit Pa Akano walked to the unit unaided.
