Hundreds of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members on Saturday renounced their membership of the party and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo at Uwan-Esigie community in Isiuwa Ward of Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
This is just as a town hall facilitated by the member representing Ovia Federal Constituency was inaugurated at Okokhuo Community, Okokhuo ward, Ovia North East local Government Area of the state.
The APC Vice Chairman of Edo South Senatorial District, Hon. Benson Edosomwan, said that they would be accorded same rights and privileges as the older members of the party.
He urged them to go out and campaign vigorously for the candidates of the APC.
Mr Adjator Isaac who spoke on behalf of the decampees, said that their reason for defection was failure of their former party to accord them due recognition.
He further said they were happy to team up with the teeming supporters of Idahosa who has placed Ovia in the map of the world with his developmental strides.
Meanwhile, the town hall which was inaugurated by the former deputy governor of the State, Mr Lucky Imasuen, is built to serve as center for hospitality for Okokhuo community.
The facilitator, Idahosa said that the hall was constructed to get a befitting place for the community meetings and create a good atmosphere for the beneficiaries to have their events.
Imasuen commended the lawmaker for the good job he is doing for his constituents and urged the community to assume ownership of the project by ensuring it proper maintainance.
