PDP Crisis: Oghiadomhe, Dokpesi Deceitful, Not True Elders Of Edo PDP — Group

A group in the People’s Democratic Party, PDP United Front, Edo State Chapter, has come down hard on former Cheif of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, Mike Oghiadomhe, Raymond Dokpesi, media mogul and some other members, calling them deceitful and shouldn’t be according recognition as party elders.

PDP United Front was reacting to recent call made via a news release made recently warning that no members should work for All Progressives Congress, APC ahead the 2023 election.

Their statement, signed by Oghiadomhe, Dokpesi, had other names like Rt. Hon. Tunde Akogun, Senator Yisa Braimoh and Sen. Victor Oyofo as endorsing their position.

They condemned in strong terms the purported plans by those they termed aggrieved members of the party to work against the interest of the party ahead of the forthcoming general elections as uncalled for.

They stated that working for the All Progressives Congress, APC, is like choosing to forget the hurt the party has committed on Nigerians.

But reacting, PDP United Front couldn’t hide their amazement at the position canvassed and also the claim made by Oghiadomhe as leaders of PDP in Edo State.

“The truth is that these elders do not speak for PDP but for themselves; they must face the reality they worked so hard for at present,” the United Front faction of PDP said.

They started that at this point, it is every man for himself in Edo PDP.

“In democracy, every single individual has the unwavering right to make his or political choice as to who to support and vote for.

“And every member of PDP in Edo State, particularly Edo North, will be allowed without restraint, to exercise this freedom of political choice.

For the avoidance of doubt, we have only one leader known to members of the Legacy PDP, which our aforementioned group is subscribed to.

“We know our leader, and at the appropriate time, when the time is ripe, we shall take directives from him,” the group said.

They advised Oghiadomhe and his group that what they are attempting is futile since they are only trying to closing the door of the stable after the horse has bolted.

“Where were these elders when other leaders were negotiating for peaceful resolution using the instrumentality of the PDP mechanism to resolve the impasse, which failed,” queried the group in their statement signed by Lawani Onimisi.

They reminded Oghiadomhe ‘s group that they can’t ask for reconciliation after allowing they party primaries rancour linger all the way to the Supreme court.
