PDP Primaries: Bauchi Deputy Speaker, Two Others Lose Reps Tickets

Bauchi Deputy Speaker Danlami Kawule has lost the ticket to represent Bauchi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary.

Others who lost their bids are former Commissioners of Works and Transport Ibrahim Abdulkadir and Science and Technology Maryam Garba Bagel.

It was learnt that Abdulkadir lost the ticket for Alkaleri/Kirfi Federal Constituency while Bagel lost for Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency.

Aminu Ali Garu defeated Kawule who represents Bauchi Central Constituency in the Assembly.

The trio failed to secure the required delegate votes to enable them scale through.

In an interview with journalists shortly after he was declared winner, Ali Garu said his victory was for democracy and the good people of Bauchi Federal Constituency.

He commended delegates for finding him worthy to represent the Constituency while calling on other aspirants to join hands with him to win the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

The Deputy Speaker declined to speak to journalists when he was approached.

But Bagel accepted her defeat in good faith, thanking 30 out of the 96 delegates who believed in her.
