Upon commencement, building and completion of the Edo State government proposed airport in Edo North, the State Government would have succeeded in opening the air transport market for competitive engagement, improving Edo’s economic base and by extension, ease up human movement between Edo North and passengers’ destinations of choice, technically prolonging the lifespan of our already fragile roads

At a time as this in our life, governments must take bold steps to reverse the narrative and imbibe a new way of political and administrative thinking; it is not impossible and out of place to have at least one airport in every Senatorial Districts of Edo; fortunately, Edo South already has one, and if Edo North and Central should tomorrow boast of an airport, all thanks to the Godwin Obaseki-led administration which envisioned and drew up the template for its establishment

Believably, this laudable project upon completion, will further open up Edo to the global market, sparking up certain desirable developments in the host community, improve her revenue base, get young people engaged and set a formidable reference point for further development

The various stakeholders under the leadership of the Edo State Government must quickly put pen to paper and rally relevant men and materials to site at first mobilization, to ensure that the proposed Edo North airport starts and ends in record time for human consumption

Indeed, Obaseki wins again, cleaning up the augean stables that once dwarfed Edo amongst the comity of States serving as investors’ destination of choice
