A respected transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has yet claimed that Manchester United would be able to sign Nigeria International striker Victor Osimhen in the upcoming with the expected departure of one of the Gil Azzurri’s chieftains in the summer.

Romano has been quoted as saying that one of the major obstacles to Osimhen’s switch away from the Diego Maradona stadium , , Cristiano Giuntoli, the Napoli ‘s sporting director is on the verge of joining Juventus this summer which would invariably determine Osimhen’s next line of affection.

Incidentally, Giuntoli who was instrumental to Osimhen’s transfer to Napoli from the French Ligue1 side, Lille has been cited as one of the key architects behind Napoli’s Serie A success.

The expected departure of the 51-year-old executive , according to Sports Bible , could make it easier for United to sign Osimhen, as well as his teammate Kim Min-jae.

President open letter
“The master negotiator’s potential departure could be a major boost in United’s pursuit of Osimhen and Kim,” the report claimed. “Giuntoli is a persuasive figure, having ‘locked’ Osimhen inside a hotel to convince him to join the Serie A side and turn down a move to Liverpool back in 2020.”

In fact,

Romano reportedly said on his YouTube channel, “At Juventus, it’s still not clear who’s going to be the director. Of course, Cristiano Giuntoli is the big favourite.

“He has an agreement with Juventus. Giuntoli is the man who built the Napoli project as director. He now has an agreement to join Juventus but he’s waiting on Napoli to give the green light […] and to let him go to Juventus.

“So at that moment, he would become the new director and the future of Dušan Vlahović and many other players would become more clear.”

In another development, Daily Mail reported yesterday that senior Manchester United staff have checked on both Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus in recent weeks.

Since the ‘acrimonious’ departure of Ronaldo to the Saudi Pro League, the Old Trafford chieftains have been longing to sign an out-and-out striker with an impressive shortlist including both Osimhen and Vlahovic as well as Tottenham Spurs’ Harry Keane.

Osimhen, whose 23 Serie A goals fired Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years this season, is one of the most sought-after striker currently in Europe but Napoli’s humongous £130 m asking price is cited as reason why many big clubs might not put in a bid for the Nigerian.
