The Rector of Auchi Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Shehu Umar has charge the newly Inaugurated Students Union Executive (SUG) on visionary leadership and good conduct in the school.
The rector stated this when the Dean of student Affair, Justice Idiaghe and newly elected SUG executives visited the him.
According to him during an interactive session with the newly inaugurated executives of the Students’ Union Government, SUG, of Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, the Rector said it was an opportunity to remind them of the brand we are building as an institution and the need for them to consistently strive at all times to key into this vision. As this is why today, we are one of the most-sought-after polytechnic in Nigeria.
I charged the Students’ Union Government to subscribe to the highest of moral standards thus setting examples for other students to emulate. I challenged them to shun all forms of anti-social acts, and other acts capable of derailing their academic pursuit. This has become vital as management would not hesitate to apply the rules and laws of our institution against offenders.
I also reminded the SUG executives that they are here first as students, hence the need to avoid intellectual indolence and laziness and get serious with their studies by shunning distractive tendencies that may affect them in their school work.
I salute the courage and commitment of Auchi Polytechnic Electoral Committee (APECO) and the Dean of Student Affairs for successfully midwifing this process. I congratulate the newly inaugurated excecutives of the SUG on their election and charge them not to disappoint the students who reposed their confidence in them by voting massively for their emergence. As you comport yourselves responsibly within and outside the campus, I wish you all a successful tenure.
