LAfter several allegations leveled against the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar in being behind the current naira scarcity crisis, an anonymous whistle blower in the CBN has revealed how Dino Melaye and some other heavyweight PDP stalwarts smuggled a whooping N50 billion out of the CBN.
The anonymous whistle blower, according to Abuja News Network, said the migration of the whooping sum to an undisclosed location in Abuja was done in the cover or the night using special utility vehicles.
The whistle blower revealed that the migration took three days to be complete under strict instructions and surveillance by a director in the bank who is known be a PDP loyalist.
The whistleblower claimed that mechanisms have already been put in place to distribute the funds to some Northern states as mobilisation fees popularly known as ‘mobulus’ in the PDP camp.
The whistle blower claimed that Dino Melaye ripped them off by sidelining them from the exercise despite helping him to perfect the deal both on paperwork and in the loading of the cash.
It was gathered that the vehicles used to transport the said funds belong to Sokoto, Delta and Adamawa, but investigation is yet to reveal if they belong to the state governments or not.
Recall that President Buhari had recently bemoaned the unreliability of banks in disbursing the newly redesigned notes which led to scarcity of cash and has paralysed economic activities across the country.
