Stop Destroying My Billboards– Shaibu Send Strong Warning To Obaseki

The deputy governor of Edo state, Comrade Philip Shaibu, has warned the persons who are destroying his campaign billboards to let Edo electorate decide the next governor of the state.

Shaibu, who was angry when he visited the scene of the destruction of one of his campaign billboards on Lagos Street, Benin yesterday, described the action as very unfortunate.

Edo deputy governor, who spoke in Hausa, Yoruba and greeted the people in Esan languages, disclosed that his campaign billboards were dismantled on two different occasions, at the same spot.

He revealed that he had secured all the stands for his campaign billboards since June 2023.

Shaibu said: “I am a man who plans ahead in whatever I want to do. I paid and secured all of them (billboards) across Edo state, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the owners, and fully paid for.


“This kind of ugly development is capable of scaring private investors from Edo State. This is why we have to be very careful as a government and individuals in our actions.

“We are going to replace the destroyed billboard right now. We hope it will not be tampered with again. We have been patient enough, they must not provoke us. Our patience must not be taken for granted.”


Edo deputy governor described the state as peaceful, but.declared that peace must be allowed to prevail before, during and after the September 21, 2024 governorship election.
