A 40-Year-old man has been shot dead at his residence in Benin city Edo state by some suspected unknown gunmen believed to be assassins.
The assailants killed the deceased, identified as Mr Odion Ehiorobo, in his house around Peanut Road on Sapele Road in Benin city., Edo state.
According to Standard Gazette crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe who visited the area, gathered that the gunmen stormed the house around 2 am on 18 February 2021.
The gunman scaled the fence into the compound and gained access into the apartment by forcing the door open.
They went straight into his bedroom, dragged him to his lounge before shooting him in the head.
Standard Gazette learned that the Odion Ehiorobo pleaded with them with everything he had, including money and other belongings but fell on deaf ears. They told him they came for his life.
The Pregnant wife, whose name is not mentioned for security reasons, told Standard Gazette that “my husband was killed under my nose with my children.
“Despite his appeal to the killers, they still went ahead and shot him. They waited for him to die before they left the house”.
“I am calling for justice,” she said in tears.
The deceased’s residence was full as anxious sympathisers besieged the area to catch a glimpse of the situation.
As of press time, the police have been called to the house to evacuate the lifeless body to the mortuary for autopsy and further investigation.
Late Mr Odion Ehiorobo was married with children.
