UPDATED: How Herdsmen Invade Catholic Priest’s Residence In Ikabigbo, Whisk Him Away In Edo

A Catholic priest popularly known as Rev. Father Osia was on Sunday morning kidnapped by Fulani Herdsmen in Ikabigbo community, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

The Herdsmen reportedly gunned invaded residence of the priest when he preparing he was preparing for Sunday Mass and in the process whisked away.

A source, who sought for anonymity in the community, told newsmen that already, the community vigilante group are combing the bush to ensure they rescue the priest.

According to the source, the herdsmen  had shot 3 of the community boys searching for the reverend father, explaining that one of the victim died immidiately and the other twor rushed to the hospital for treatment.


Confirming the incident, traditional ruler of the community, Bramah Alegeh explained that efforts are going on to ensure the release of the Catholic Priest.

He further confirmed that the Army in collaboration with local vigilante were combing the bush to ensure the release of the cleric.

SP Chidi Nwanbor, the state Command spokesman promised to get back when contacted but has not up to time of filing the report.
