The Police Command in Bauchi State has launched an investigation into a viral multimedia clip (audio and video) of a torture scene in which a gang of hardened young boys were seen cruelly inflicting severe pain and violent treatment on some group of young ladies in the state.
In the video seen by our correspondent the ladies who were in their late teens and early twenties were confined in an uncompleted building within the metropolis where they were severely beaten and brutalised.
This is even as razor blades were used to cut off their hair while the gang of boys numbering about 10 continue to use vulgar words to harass them.
The command’s Spokesman DSP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, who made the development made to newsmen in Bauchi, described the action as a violation of human dignity saying it’s not only alarming, but an act that amounts to gender based violence.
Wakil who said that the victims have since been invited to give vital information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators said, ”our men have swung into action, investigations have earnestly commenced and the syndicate gang involved will be apprehended and arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.”
