The Vice Chancellor of University of Benin Prof. Lilian Salami has tendered unreserved apology to UNIBEN students over the purported hike of late payment of students school fees.

The vice chancellor who announced this at the protest ground at main gate while addressing the students.

The agreement reached by the students with the Vice chancellor in order for the students to suspend the peaceful protest includes; total removal of the 20,000 late payment charge

Initiation of plans to remove the Dean of students and the PRO
No student will be victimized or penalized for participating in the peaceful protest
Students can remain in their various halls of residents as light and water will be immediately restored
“This is based on security reports from the Department of State Security (DSS) to avoid the students’ action being hijacked by hoodlums; and thereby prevent any form of breakdown of law and order within and outside the campuses of the University.

“Accordingly, Students are to login into their Kofa page as the extra charges has be reversed.
