What It Means When A Woman Experiences Nipple Pain Regularly

Nipple pain is very common among women around the world. In some cases, it is not a cause for concern. But when it becomes a regular occurrence, it could mean a more serious medical condition like breast cancer.

Many women are scared when they experience this and may wonder why it happens. In this article, I’ll be explaining what it means when a woman experiences frequent nipple pain.

1. Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

One of the first indicators of pregnancy is sore nipples and painful breasts. Your breasts may be swollen, and your nipples may be particularly sensitive. It’s all thanks to the pregnancy hormones which are at their highest level during the first trimester. Breastfeeding can also cause nipple pain because chafing causes the nipples to become sensitive.

2. Infection.

Another cause of nipple pain for many women is infection. Breastfeeding can cause your nipples to crack or bleed, making you more at risk of getting an infection. You could get a yeast infection in your nipples. When you notice this, it’s also a good idea to seek medical help immediately.

3. Hormonal changes.

In women, hormonal changes are also to blame for nipple pain. You may have noticed that your nipples become uncomfortable or tender as your period date approaches or during menstruation. This is because a woman’s hormone levels fluctuate throughout her period, causing pain in the breasts and nipples.

4. Paget’s disease.

Paget’s disease is a type of breast cancer that affects the nipple and the skin that surrounds it. It is frequently detected in women over the age of 50. Usually, signs and symptoms like redness, itching, burning sensation, and others appear in only one breast.

5. Friction due to wearing tight bra.

Another factor that can cause nipple pain is friction. Friction is one of the most common causes of sore nipples. It is caused by wearing tight-fitting bra or working out for an extended period of time.

If the pain becomes unbearable, the woman should seek medical help. Please like, comment and share to others.
