The Rector of Auchi polytechnic, Dr S. Shehu Umaru has said the institution remains a major hub for accounting.
The polytechnic rector stated this yesterday when he received a delegation of the executives and distinguished members of Auchi District of ICAN led by the Chairman Ahmed Yakubu Shaibu (FCA) in his office.
In his official Facebook page, He wrote,
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) over the years has consistently provided the needed push and framework for the economy of Nigeria. As a matter of fact, the place of the Institute in ensuring probity, accountability and transparency across all sectors of our nation’s economy cannot be over emphasised. My excitement this morning stems from this backdrop when I received a delegation of the executives and distinguished members of Auchi District of ICAN led by the Chairman Ahmed Yakubu Shaibu (FCA) in my office.
Auchi Polytechnic is known across the country and beyond as a major hub for the Accounting profession having blazed the trail through the performance of our teaching staff and students in major engagements organised by ICAN. I assure the institute that Auchi Polytechnic is committed to the promotion of the Accounting profession. We are ready to partner with ICAN through the implementation of your proposals for programmes that will horn the skills of our teaching staff and students, seminars and trainings in specialised areas like forensic accounting etc. We are also open to draw from your inexhaustible pool of experts to help strengthen Auchi Polytechnic’s accounting system for optimum result, transparency and accountability.
I sincerely thank you for the donation of accounting textbooks to our institution and promise that they will be put to good use by our staff and students.
