In a statement by its chairman, Pius Okhueleigbe, the Assistant Secretary-General, Mike Itua and three other members of the executive, the teachers disclosed the suspension of the indefinite strike, which commenced on January 18, was made possible by the national leadership of the union.

It urged all public primary school heads and teachers in Edo state to resume work on Monday, February 8, 2021.

The union declared any form of victimisation against Edo NUT leaders and members should be promptly reported to the leadership for necessary action.
