…Orders suit to be continue before another Federal Highcourt Judge
The Court of Appeal has today ordered the disqualification suit against Seriaki Dickson to continue before another Federal High Court Judge.
This is in a judgement delivered today by the three man panel of the appellate court sitting in Port-Harcourt.
NAIJA LIVE TV reported that the Appellant OWOUPELE ENEORIEKUMOH has through his lawyers, Pius Danba Pius, Esq. and Ebikebuna Augustine Aluzu, Esq., approached the Court of Appeal Portharcourt Division seeking to set aside the ruling of the Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, which erroneously dismissed the case of the Appellant for want of jurisdiction.
The Federal High Court had initially dismissed the disqualification case against Dickson. However, the Court of Appeal agrees with the Appellant’s lawyers Tha the Federal High Court was very wrong and in grave error to dismiss the disqualification suit.
The Court of Appeal reversed the decision of the Federal High Court.
Senator Dickson Seriake who is already sworn in at the National Assembly to represent the people of Bayelsa West will have to go and open his Defence at the Federal High Court or stand disqualified.
The Court of Appeal has now directed that the disqualification case should continue. The Appellant is seeking that Dickson be disqualified and remove from the Senate.
