Ahead of the Edo APC primary election, a frontline governorship aspirant of the party, Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe has began tour to various local government across Edo for familiarization with members of the party members
During his recent tour, Dr. Ernest Umakhihe, a former permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, received a warm welcome and support from party members in Ovia North East, Ovia South West and Egor LGAs.
Hon. Vincent Uwadia, a member of the G14, assured Umakhihe of the Ovia North East APC’s support for his governorship aspirations. Uwadia commended Umakhihe’s past achievements as a permanent secretary and expressed confidence in his ability to accomplish even more as the governor of Edo State. He emphasized that Umakhihe can count on the support of the party in Ovia North East.
Umakhihe also visited Iguobazuwa in Ovia South West, where he was praised by party members for his previous work as a permanent secretary.
The enthusiastic reception demonstrated the strong support for Umakhihe in the Egor local government, as Hon. Crosby Eribo, a G14 member and leader of the APC in the local government, encouraged Umakhihe to continue his campaign without distractions, emphasizing his impressive credentials while telling him that he is in the race.
Chairman APC Egor local government Chief Emma Iyase acknowledged Umakhihe as a son of Egor and praised his previous projects in the area.
On his part, Dr. Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe highlighted his commitment to security, agriculture, and empowerment during his visits to the three local governments. He emphasized the importance of providing adequate security for farmers to work without fear of attacks. Umakhihe also outlined his plans for women and youth empowerment, focusing on improving access to finance and the educational system in Edo State.
Umakhihe expressed his determination to work diligently if given the opportunity, stating that the reward for hard work is more work. He assured the party members that he would deliver on his promises and exceed expectations.
Dr. Ernest Umakhihe’s tour was met with enthusiasm and support from party members, demonstrating his strong candidacy for the governorship ticket of the APC in Edo State.
Among Umakhihe’s entourage were Amb. Lucky Ohimai, CEO of Tarex Lounge, Comrade Usman Sani AKA Don Chi, and Hon. Orobosa Omo Ojo, amongst others.
