Detectives investigating an alleged serial killer medical doctor, Abbas Abdio Adebowale, have uncovered another of his victim in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The investigation, led by the Edo State police command, traced the medical doctor to Ede in Osun state after killing a cab driver in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.
Standard Gazette reported how Abbas Adio Adebowale, an alleged staff of General Hospital in Kalama, Kwara State, called the taxi driver Emmanuel Agbonviwere, 39, to take him to Ugbowo area in Edo; unknown to the driver, he had planned his demise.
Adebowale injected the Agbonviwere with a deadly substance suspected to be Diazepam, deadly when administered In excess dose.
Standard Gazette reported that Emmanuel died on the spot, and Adebowale dumped the lifeless body on the roadside along Benin-Akure Road before driving the vehicle to Osun State.
Officers traced him to his hideout, arrested him, and brought him back to Edo State for further investigation.
Standard Gazette gathered that Adebowale refused to give an account of the incident; however, he pleaded with the police and the deceased’s family to forgive him.
Upon searching the car, detectives found diazepam injection, also known as “velon” or “sniper,” and some used syringes.
The police medical doctor in Edo state, CSP Oyakhire, confirmed the drugs to journalists.
Detectives have now uncovered that the alleged doctor Adebowale had murdered a 32-year-old graduate in Ilorin, Kwara state.
His newly discovered victim, Ifeoluwa Olaonipekun Ibukun, was his friend, who he lured out by asking for a ride to a restaurant.
Contrary to the method he used in murdering the taxi driver in Edo State, Adebowale used a hard object to hit the woman on the head before stealing her vehicle.
Edo state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the police would continue to dig further to ascertain if the suspect carries out more attacks.
The police have carried out autopsies on both deceased persons.
