Adams Oshiomhole, the former Edo State Governor, has admitted that he made a mistake in supporting Godwin Obaseki in the 2016 gubernatorial election by bringing Governor Godwin Obaseki from Lagos. Speaking at APC Ward rally in Agbede, Oshiomhole told APC supporters that Obaseki has failed the people of Edo State, which is why he is now “bringing Asue Ighodalo a stranger to come and cover their loots.”
Oshiomhole accused Obaseki of borrowing billions of naira without any meaningful development to show for it.
Gani Audu, a former Etsako West constituency 1 House of Assembly member, echoed Oshiomhole’s confidence, stating that the APC has never lost an election in “Club 3” and that he has a track record of delivering infrastructure and development as a local government chairman.
The Minister of Niger Delta, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, also assured the crowd that key roads, including the one from Ubiane to South Ibie, Warrake to Agono and Jagbe Uromi, will be constructed this year.
Barr. Kassim Otono rallied the youths to come out and vote for the APC, promising that their votes will be protected against any interference from the current administration.
APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo said he will start from where Oshiomhole stopped, pledging to fix the state’s educational system and institutions, provide security to attract investments, and restore electricity to areas like Agbede that have been left in darkness.
