…… says, “I resigned because PDP has no value for fairness, justice.”
A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Chief Audu Agadaga Ojieabu Mohammed, the Adaghebalu of Uzea Kingdom, Esan North East Local Government Area, Edo State has resigned his membership of the party.
The staunch party stalwart from Ward 6, Ute-Ebun said, “Having put in years of service, it is with so much pain that I have written to officially resign my membership of the party PDP.”
He said the reasons for his resignation from the PDP are connected to the continuous Uzea political marginalization by PDP.
He said, “As of today, Uzea has no motorable roads linking the communities. Most of the communities have dilapidated primary schools (built since 1955), no secondary schools, no health care centres. It is lamentable that in this, our 21st century, no community in the whole of Uzea Kingdom, has electricity.
“It is heartbreaking that though Esan North East LGA, made up of just two kingdoms (Uromi and Uzea), with the current political offices: two seats in Edo state House of Assembly, a Commissioner, a local government council chairman and vice chairman, Special Adviser, Secretary to the LGA, 4 senior special advisers, and 4 supervisory councilors. None of these are from Uzea Kingdom. How do we develop?” he queried.
Continuing, he said, “Our Edo Central demanded for governorship. Because of equity, fairness, and justice, the bigger senatorial zones and the major political parties have given them the governorship candidates. In the same way, we have written to our party leaders severally, met with them, and drawn their attention to this anomaly, but to no avail.
“What is the gain in supporting a party that has no value for fairness, justice, or live and let live? It’s now obvious that under PDP, Uzea might be hopeless forever”, he said.
