Edo Police, Vigilante Burst Gang Member, Native Doctor For Alleged Kidnapping

Two suspected kidnappers have been arrested by men of the Edo state police command.

The suspects were arrested at the scene of the crime around Okada in Edo state.

According to Standard Gazette Crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe gathered that the suspects belong to a five-person KIDNAPPING gang alleged to be terrorising most Communities around Okada in Edo state.

Several ransoms were said to have so far been collected by the suspects.

The two SUSPECTS were identified as Ibrahim Ajao and Lawrence Okor, popularly called “Oseh”.

SG gathered that the suspects stormed a house around Okada in Ovia North-East local government area of Edo state, where they had planned to kidnap a businessman.

Standard Gazette gathered that, while the suspects were in strategic places waiting for their victim to come out of his house, residents contacted the man to alert him of strange faces in his vicinity.

Out of fear, the man quickly contacted the police and the local Vigilante members in the area, who responded swiftly.

One of the suspects, Ibrahim Ajao, was arrested on the spot and the police later arrested the gang spiritual leader, Lawrence Okor.

In an interview the said Lawrence Okor said that” yes, l am a professional native doctor, and some boys usually come to me for spiritual support before carrying out the kidnappings.

“I give them the support. I also followed them to kidnap sometimes and the last one, I got N300,000 as share”.

Edo state commissioner of Police, CP Philip Ogbadu, confirmed the story and attributed the arrest to the command’s achievements in the past two months.

According to him, “there will be no hiding place for criminals to operate in Edo state. We will flush them out”.

CP Ogbadu assured that fleeing members of the gang would be arrested.
